In Ring: Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. Seth says over the years, you have given him some sweet nicknames. Mr. Money in the Bank since he won it in Boston. The Kingslayer, the Architect, Monday Night Rollins. The only moniker that matters now is Former Intercontinental Champion. Seth says he has an opportunity to change that. At Extreme Rules, he goes one on one against Dolph Ziggler for thirty minutes. The man with the most wins in that period is the Iron Man and leaves Extreme Rules as the Intercontinental Champion. Dolph is no joke. He is a veteran and he is savvy. Seth says that Dolph will bring that overgrown Scottish Wookiee, Drew McIntyre.
Dolph’s music interrupts and he makes his way to the stage with Drew McIntyre. Dolph thanks Seth for the kind words. He tells everyone not to be fooled because he will not only bring his good looks and this giant psychopath with him. He is also bringing the title. Don’t think for one second that he is not walking out of Extreme Rules as your champion. Drew says it is not all bad. At least you will have your nicknames and you will get a glimpse at the future of this place. Dolph says you are still Seth ‘Freaking’ Rollins. You are one of the best wrestlers to set foot in that ring. Dolph says you are no Dolph Ziggler. When it comes to that Iron Man match, he might win 5-0, 10-0, 100-0, or 1000-0.
Seth says the peroxide might be getting to Dolph’s brain. Dolph says you lost that one shred. Everything you poured into this title made it sweeter when he pried it from Seth’s hands. You don’t win an Iron Man Match by swinging a sledgehammer or flipping over tires. It is nothing you do in a Crossfit gym. You win by racking up victory after victory. Dolph says he is not one to brag, but at Kent State, he wrapped up enough victories he walked out the winningest wrestler.
Seth congratulates Dolph on 121 wins in college. He asks Drew if he graduated from Kent State. Drew says it does not matter where he has been, it is where he is going. He is going straight to the top. Seth says that Drew will be going wherever Dolph tells him to go. Seth wants to know why Drew is taking orders from that pipsqueak. Seth says Dolph knows your secrets. Seth asks that there are no photographs. It gets lonely in Scotland and there are only so many sheep to go around.
Dolph says it won’t be so funny after Extreme Rules when they roll over Seth on Sunday. Drew tells Seth to prove how much of a man he really is. Drew challenges Seth to a match tonight. Seth accepts the challenge and he tells Drew to be careful because he is a baaaaaaaaad man. Drew goes into the ring and so does Dolph but Seth gets out of the ring before they can get their hands on Seth.
Backstage: Drew and Dolph enter Kurt’s office and Kurt tells Drew if he loses tonight, Drew will be banned from ringside on Sunday. Kevin says that is favoritism. Drew says that is okay because Seth will not get through the match tonight.
In Ring: Dolph Ziggler’s music interrupts and he makes his way to the stage with Drew McIntyre. Dolph says that Roman is calling someone else an egomaniac. You make everything about you. You call the ring, Your Yard. Everything has to go through you. Drew says you can’t help yourself and try to play the hero. Just like you did last week with your buddy Seth Rollins. Dolph corrects Drew by reminding him that Seth is the former Intercontinental Champion.
Dolph says if you want everything to go through you and be about you . . . that’s fine by them. Drew says since you stuck your nose in their business last week, they will return the favor now. Roman punches Drew and then Dolph but Dolph hits Roman from behind and it is a two on one attack. Seth Rollins comes to the ring and he punches Drew and Dolph. Seth with an enzuigiri to Drew and then he takes Dolph to the mat and punches him.
Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns versus Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler
Dolph and Seth start things off. They lock up and Seth with a waist lock. Ziggler escapes but Rollins with a key lock into a front face lock. Ziggler escapes and he applies a front face lock and gets a near fall. They lock up and Seth with a hammer lock. Ziggler blocks a hip toss and gets a near fall with a rollup. Rollins with a drop kick and Ziggler retreats into the corner. McIntyre tags in.
They lock up and McIntyre with a side head lock. Drew with a shoulder tackle and then he blocks a hip toss and Drew sends Seth to the mat. Seth gets to his corner and Roman wants to tag in. Seth allows it and Roman enters the match. They lock up and Drew backs Roman into the corner and connects with a knee and follows with punches and kicks. Roman sends Drew into the turnbuckles and Roman with punches. Roman goes to the turnbuckles and he punches Drew. Roman tries for a Samoan drop but Drew gets to his feet. Roman with an uppercut and Dolph goes to the floor and distracts Roman to allow Drew to hit a head butt. Drew with punches to Roman. Ziggler tags in and hits a super kick for a near fall. Ziggler chokes Roman in the ropes while the referee warns Dolph. We get Coach’s word of the hour and it is Payback. Drew tags in and he chops Roman followed by a neck breaker. Dolph tags back in and he kicks Roman. Dolph sends Roman into the turnbuckles and he punches Roman. Roman with an uppercut as Ziggler goes for a splash in the corner. Rollins tags in and hits a springboard clothesline. Seth with a boot to Ziggler and he leaps over Dolph and hits Slingblade. Rollins with a baseball slide to Drew and then he hits a suicide dive. Rollins with a drop kick as the bell rings and he kicks Ziggler. Ziggler goes to the floor. Ziggler returns to the ring and he goes for the leg but Rollins with a waist lock. Ziggler gets into the ropes and Rollins with a clean break. They go for a test of strength but Ziggler with a kick and punch. Rollins blocks a punch and he punches and chops Ziggler. Rollins with a snap mare and rollup for a near fall. Rollins with an arm drag into an arm bar. Ziggler puts Rollins in the ropes and he gives a clean break for a moment until Ziggler connects with an elbow. Ziggler sends Rollins into the turnbuckles. Ziggler with punches in the corner followed by a snap mare and leaping elbow drop for a near fall. Ziggler with a side head lock. Ziggler with a side head lock take down. Ziggler holds on to the side head lock when Rollins tries to send him off the ropes. Ziggler with a side head lock take down.
Rollins with punches but Ziggler sends Rollins to the mat and then he takes Rollins down with another side head lock take down. Rollins gets back to his feet and Rollins with a hip toss and drop kick. Ziggler goes to the floor. Drew gets between Rollins and Ziggler. Rollins sees Ziggler trying for the sneak attack and Rollins with a punch and then he sends Ziggler into the apron and ringside barrier. We are back and Ziggler kicks Rollins in the knee. We see footage from the commercial break when Rollins got distracted by McIntyre and Dolph knocked Rollins off the apron and into the ringside barrier. Ziggler with a snap mare and leaping elbow drop for a near fall. Ziggler with a reverse chin lock and body scissors. Rollins with a hard Irish whip and both men are down. Ziggler back body drops Rollins over the top rope to the floor and Rollins lands on his wrist and appears to have injured it. Ziggler with a near fall. Ziggler with a front face lock and punch. Ziggler with a punch. Rollins with a kick and he goes for a suplex but Ziggler lands on his feet and applies a sleeper. Rollins goes for a belly-to-back suplex and Ziggler lands on his feet and Dolph goes back to the sleeper. Rollins backs Ziggler into the corner and then snap mares Ziggler to escape. Both men go for a cross body and both men are down. Rollins with chops but Ziggler with an Irish whip. Rollins gets his feet up when Ziggler charges into the corner. Rollins with slingblade and then he clotheslines Ziggler over the top rope to the floor. Rollins sets for a suicide dive but McIntyre hits Rollins in the back as Rollins comes off the ropes. WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. Seth says it is heating up. There is an electricity in the ring and a buzz in the back. He says Elias took him to his limit and he loved every second of it. He is still standing and he is still the Intercontinental Champion. Seth says he is a fighting champion and he suggests that we have an Open Challenge. There is no better place than here and no better time than right now. Seth wants to know who has the guts to come out and face him. Dolph Ziggler comes out and then he is joined by Drew McIntyre. Dolph goes into the ring so he will be the opponent for Seth tonight.
Seth Rollins versus Dolph Ziggler (with Drew McIntyre) for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Ziggler with a kick and he goes for the Zig Zag but Seth holds the ropes. Rollins goes for Black Out but Ziggler moves. Dolph goes to the floor and we go to commercial. We are back and Rollins goes for a springboard move but Ziggler drop kicks Rollins to the floor. Ziggler punches Rollins on the floor. They return to the ring and Rollins with punches but Ziggler with a kick to the knee. Ziggler gets a near fall. Ziggler with a neck breaker for a near fall. Ziggler with a leaping elbow drop for a near fall. Ziggler with a chin lock and the arm in a hammer lock using the leg. Ziggler sends Rollins to the mat. Ziggler chokes Rollins in the ropes. Rollins with punches and Ziggler with a hard Irish whip for a near fall.
Ziggler with a reverse chin lock and body scissors. Rollins with a suplex attempt but Ziggler lands on his feet. Rollins catches Ziggler and catapults him into the ring post. Both men are down. Rollins gets to his feet first and he chops Ziggler. We are back and Ziggler with a splash but Rollins blocks the neck breaker and gets a near fall with a back slide. Ziggler with a sunset flip to counter the buckle bomb and he gets a near fall. Rollins with a V Trigger for a near fall. We see footage from the break when Rolins and Ziggler both went over the top rope to the floor on a suplex attempt.Rollins looks at McIntyre and then he sets for thrust kick and then he hits it but misses Black Out. Ziggler with a kick to the knee and a Fameasser for a near fall. Ziggler gets to his feet first and he sets for the super kick. Rollins with a super kick and a second one for a near fall. Rollins goes up top and goes for the frog splash but Ziggler moves out of the way and Rollins hits the mat. Ziggler goes up top and Rollins crotches Ziggler. Rollins with a head butt and he sets for the superplex but Ziggler blocks it. Ziggler punches Rollins to the mat and Rollins goes up top and Ziggler stops him again with a head butt. Ziggler with a cross body but Rollins rolls through and hits a buckle bomb.
Rollins with a thrust kick and he hits McIntyre. Ziggler with a rollup for a near fall. Rollins with a rollup for a near fall and then Ziggler rolls through for the three count.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler (new Champion)
After the match: McIntyre attacks Rollins and punches him. They hit the ZIg Zag and Claymore combination.
Backstage: Renee Young is with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. Dolph says Monday Night Rollins is cancelled. There is no reboot coming. This is their show now. Drew says they told everybody. This is just the beginning. This is the first of many titles to come. Unlike former champions, this will not allow them to get soft. Dolph says you hear people with their catchphrases. There is a difference between them and everybody else. When they say something they do it.
